Well, it's been an interesting week. But happy to report that all is still going well. Last week, my glucose test came back high. I had to schedule the 3-hour glucose test to ensure I didn't have gestational diabetes. Luckily, I don't. But the test wasn't exactly what I'd call a good time. A notorious late-riser, getting up to be there just after 7am wasn't a picnic. Not to mention that I typically need to eat as soon as I awake. Not an option yesterday. We were a bit late getting started due to some late paper work. And half way through, the technician blew out my vein. (The only draw that actually hurt.) Ouch. Today my arms are swollen and incredibly purple. Losing blood and not eating made for a pretty cruddy day. So, I spend most of yesterday trying to relax on the couch. And trying to give myself permission to NOT work. That didn't go so well.
But today, I was back in business. Feeling fine. My iron is also low, but supplements seem to be doing the trick. We had an appointment with Dr. Hsu today, just to make sure all is well before we head to PA this weekend for our co-ed shower/picnic. Everything looks fine. See him waving to us in the photo here? The technician estimated that he's about 2.5 lbs, and he's measuring around 27 weeks and 5 days....5 days ahead since today marks week 27.
I'm doing well also. I've gained about 8 pounds so far. Not too bad. I'm still relatively comfortable, but definitely finding it more challenging to maneuver. (I keep running into the shopping cart with my belly at the grocery store!) Today I got my Rogram shot since my blood is RH negative. That was an ouch as well. Steve's reaction when the PA pulled out the needle didn't help. I think he said something like "Holy crap that's a big needle!" Gee, thanks a lot Steve. Next time, I think we should practice on YOU first! Not the first shot I've had in my hip. I'm sure not the last. But I'll tell you one thing...I've had enough needles for one week!
The important part is that I am healthy and the little guy is healthy. We've been cleared to head to PA, and we'll be leaving in about 48 hours. We're really looking forward to seeing everyone, and we're hoping the rain will hold off!
When we get back...time to get serious about finishing his room and getting everything ready. November will be here before we know it!
